About the Program

Social Work at the Fargo VA Healthcare System is an integral part of health care. We help Veterans and their families with a variety of problems including problems associated with the stress of an illness.

Clinical Social Workers are available to all Veterans, their families, and caregivers to assist with a variety of concerns including —

  • advanced care planning
  • caregiver support
  • catastrophic illness or injury
  • community resource referrals
  • coping with new diagnosis or chronic illness
  • financial instability
  • lack of stable living situation
  • nursing home or respite placement
  • terminal illness
  • VA benefits assistance

Services Offered

VA Clinical Social Workers provide case management, individual, group work, and other major treatment modalities to help Veterans and their families/caregivers. Social Work walk-in visits are also available for Veterans who are at the Fargo VA Medical Center and not assigned to a PACT team or are here from a Community Based Outpatient Clinic.
