VFW of ND donates to Homeless Veterans Program
The Past VFW of North Dakota State Commander, Neil Prochnow, presented the Fargo VA Health Care System’s Homeless Veterans Program with a monetary donation at the Fargo VA Medical Center, Sept. 8.
“This incredible donation from the VFW of North Dakota will be an immense help to our Veterans in need of assistance,” said Diana Hall, Fargo VA HCS Programs Manager for Housing and Employment. “The Fargo VA Health Care System is committed to ending homelessness among our area Veterans, and the VFW of North Dakota has always provided outstanding support to the Fargo VA Health Care System and the Veterans within our care.”
The focus of the Homeless Veterans Program is to conduct coordinated outreach to proactively seek out Veterans in need of assistance, connect homeless and at-risk Veterans with housing solutions, health care, community employment services, and other required supports, and collaborate with federal, state and local agencies; employers; housing providers, faith-based and community nonprofits; and others to expand employment and affordable housing options for Veterans exiting homelessness.
People wanting to take action to help end Veteran homelessness can call the Fargo VA HCS Homeless Veterans Program at (701) 239-3700 extension 3472. Veterans and their families who may be in crisis may also call 1-877-4AID-VET (1-877-424-3838) to access VA services.
