During the past year, the Fargo My Healthy Teaching Kitchen expanded services to reach out to Veterans around the community. This has included classes to Veterans residing at Project Hart. 

The focus is on balanced eating on a limited budget.  Another focus is meal preparation using foods typically received from donations or the food pantry.

The VA Gourmet Group, working in conjunction with Social Work Services, also initiated a Healthy Teaching Kitchen program for HUD VASH Veterans.  This class focused on cooking simple, healthy meals while stretching food dollars and eating on a budget.   Basic food sanitation as well as cooking methods is also covered.

Veterans assist in the preparation of food and plans are to continue to provide this cooking and nutrition experience to veterans in the community. 

Nutrition is a critical component to health!
