Fargo VA DAISY Award

Daisy Award

Congratulations to Melissa Smith for receiving the Fargo VA’s DAISY Award!

Wednesday, April 26, 2017

Congratulations to Melissa Smith, a licensed practical nurse in the medical surgical unit, for receiving the Fargo VA’s DAISY Award!

As a DAISY Award Partner, the Fargo VA recognizes one of our extraordinary nurses with this special honor each quarter. The DAISY Award is an international program that rewards and celebrates the extraordinary, compassionate and skillful care given by nurses every day.

DAISY Award honorees personify the Fargo VA HCS’s remarkable patient experience.

Veterans, their family members, and colleagues in the community nominate deserving nurses for the DAISY award. Comments among those who nominated Melissa include: She took ownership of her patients – She worked hard to care for all needs – She took the extra steps to make patients comfortable and secure – She understood and recognized PTSD in care – She could relate as a Veteran – Cannot say enough about the care.

How to Nominate An Extraordinary Fargo VA Nurse Today: Veterans and/or their family or colleagues may nominate a deserving nurse by filling out a Daisy Award form found in waiting areas throughout our facilities and placing in the Daisy Award drop box or turning in at a desk, or you can call our Nursing Services at (701) 232-3241 extension 93661 to have a Daisy Award form mailed to you.
