Fargo VA Health Care System
Representatives from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and the Fargo VA will team up with faith-based, nonprofit, and community organizations for a training event on Sept. 21, 2017, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Sharon Lutheran Church (1720 20th St. South) in Grand Forks, N.D.
Entitled the VA Outreach & Community Clergy Training, the event provides an opportunity for faith-based, nonprofit, community, and neighborhood clergy, leaders, and organizations to learn about the programs and services VA provides to Veterans, family members, survivors, caregivers, and other beneficiaries.
The event is the first ever of its kind in the area, providing participants with information on how to collaborate with the VA at the local, regional, and national levels. Local and national speakers will share information on how to work together to assist Veterans.
Speakers will discuss the spiritual, medical, and social needs of recently returned Veterans, as well as financial, employment, and educational concerns. Speakers will also share information about VA’s healthcare services, eliminating Veteran homelessness, suicide prevention information, claims processing, Women Veterans Program, and other resources.
