Fargo VA Healthcare System Sponsors Clothesline Project

The Fargo VA Medical Center together with the North Dakota National Guard sponsored a "Clothesline Project" awareness event on the topic of Military Sexual Trauma (MST) Awareness at the Fargo VA Healthcare System.

Following the kickoff event, two educational sessions were held in the 3rd Floor Auditorium. Guest speakers were Angela Rose, Executive Director of PAVE (Promoting Awareness, Victim Empowerment) and Susan Thompson, Fargo VAMC Military Sexual Trauma Coordinator.

T-shirts were displayed outside in the West Circle Drive that had been decorated by victims of military sexual trauma. These T-shirts are for therapy purposes to "break the silence" of MST.

After the event, Fargo VA Healthcare System Mental Health Service Line clinical staff and the National Guard military sexual trauma coordinator were available for any Veteran needing assistance or having questions regarding military sexual trauma.
